Gloss n Sparkle - Mirage, Optimus, and Unicorn Droppings

Hi!!

So it's been about 2 weeks since I've posted last, but at least now I can say that I've finished my university exams FOR EVER!!

Today I've got 3 polishes from the amazing indie polish brand Gloss n Sparkle. First up is Mirage, a powder blue creme with small and large silver hexes. I completely love this polish, it reminds me of cartoons like Charlie Brown when they draw snow in the background or something. I think it's perfect for winter and Christmas, I'm pretty sure that this'll be bumped up in the rotation around December haha. I'm pretty sure that this is two coats, but there's still a little bit of VNL so 3 would probably be better.

Next up is Optimus. I couldn't not get this polish, I love the name so much! Plus I'm on a major sheer jelly with glitter kick so I had to get it haha! Optimus is a grey jelly with blue and red large hexes. I love how the jelly partially covers the glitters. This is two coats.

Finally, probably Gloss n Sparkles most well known polish: Unicorn Droppings. If you're only going to buy one of any Gloss n Sparkle polishes, make it this one! Unicorn Droppings is a milky white jelly embedded with holographic shimmer packed with small matte purple, yellow, red, blue, and green (but there's probably more colours then that!) hexes. I think this is going to be one of the polishes that I'll rephotograph when I get my new camera because I don't think that my camera at the moment managed to capture the sheer awesomeness of this polish! This is two (quite thick) coats, but three thin coats would probably give the glitters more depth.

Lately I've gotten completely obsessed with nail polish rings, ever since I saw how easy it was to make them, I decided that I don't wear enough jewellery and that I should make my own! These are two rings that I made with Gloss n Sparkle Abyss and Unicorn Droppings. They both look amazing in rings and if you managed to get either of these polishes, I encourage you to make your own rings!

Bonus pictures - the kitten that we're look after at the moment! We decided to name him Jefferson after the Mad Hatter from Once Upon A Time.

Omg his cute little face! Haha

You can buy Gloss n Sparkle polishes from her Etsy store if you live in Australia. If you live internationally don't worry! Gloss n Sparkle has recently announced that she has gained international distribution through Shoppe Eclecticco, and like Gloss n Sparkle on Facebook to keep up with updates, restocks and new collections!

See you next time!

NOTD: Neon Skittle Leopard

Hi guys!

It's been so long since I've posted! Unfortunately uni has been kicking my ass, soooo many assignments! I hate how they have them all due in the same week! Although today I handed in my last assignment FOREVER! Feeling a little nostalgic, but probably not for long because now I've got my exams haha

So to cheer myself up I decided to do a neon leopard skittle! This was using the famous Konad m57 plate, the problem with these is that my nails are too wide! Luckily you can't really tell here that I had to use a small paintbrush and paint the sides. I ordered some Llarowe XL plates which are so much bigger than the Konad plates, so hopefully I'll have more luck with those.

For this I used:
- OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
- Kleancolor Neon Aqua
- China Glaze Hang Ten Toes
- China Glaze Orange You Hot?
- China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard
- China Glaze Sun-kissed

I just love how fun this look is! The only problem is that in the stamping, the neons came out looking like pastels. At least both neon and pastel are in at the moment, so either are on trend haha

I'm in the process of cropping my massive amount of indie swatches, unfortunately until I get my good camera (yay for a graduation present!), I'm using the camera on my phone. It's oddly better quality then my normal digital camera, but for some of these indies I can't capture how truly awesome they are. So I think I'll either hold off on posting them, or re-swatching them once I get my camera.

See you next time!

A-Engand - Galahad - Bar Tested!

Hi!

Today I've Galahad to show you from last week (which I've swatched previously here) Bar Tested!! Galahad actually did pretty well, the problem on my thumb was unrelated, the nail broke :(, and it was tested on a Saturday which is a much busier and longer shift! I think I'll come up with some kind of Bar Tested logo, with a thumbs up/thumbs down haha, thoughts?

Bar tested!!
I also had a weird thing happen to my nail, I've never seen this happen before! I was re-stacking those glass tray things (because the other people at the bar apparently don't know how to stack them), and one of them came down on my nail and I think pulled it a little bit from my finger?

WARNING! NAKED ICKY NAILS!!

Has anything like this ever happened to you guys? I hope it grows out soon because it's becoming really annoying! It doesn't hurt though which is positive.

Also a development with the fake OPI MAAH! I finnaalllyyyyyy managed to get a real version of Mad As A Hatter! I'll probably edit that post and compare the colours, it's shocking how close the fake is to the real one, the only real difference is that the real OPI has more silver glitter.

See you next time!

A-England - Lady of the Lake & Tristam

Hi!

Finally! The two holographics of the Mythicals Collection! Tristam was one of the other polishes I got in my first A-England haul a few months ago, and I just had to get his purple sister Lady of the Lake!

Unfortunately they're more of a scattered holo instead of linear, but that doesn't make them any less beautiful! Both of them have great application & drying time going on in two easy coats and drying in about 15 minutes without a quick dry top coat!

Onto the pictures! First up is Lady of the Lake:

Isn't it pretty! I loooove purples, but for some reason I don't wear them that much, which is crazy! Next up is the gorgeous Tristam! The best way to describe this colour is denim. This looks exactly like blue jeans, and would be great for Jeans for Genes Day (is that a day in America? I think it's sometime in October here).

One thing that I've completely forgotten to mention in previous posts is removal. These didn't stain my nails at all even though they were super pigmented. Although I've never really had staining problems except for reds & China Glaze Atlantis.

Tomorrow I'll show the first half of my Legends collection! I'll leave you with a photo of the new phone covers I got from eBay this week. A kitty and chocolate! Best things in the world I think haha!

A-England - Galahad & Perceval

Hi!

Today I'm starting the week long A-England SWATCH-STRAVAGANZA! I'm so excited to show you all of the polishes I've gotten in the past few weeks! I'll start with the polishes from A-England's first collection, the Myhicals.

I decided that I should start with one of A-England's most famous colours; Galahad. It's the most amazing creme and so hard to define! People have called it just plain blue, on the A-England website they describe it as a 'blue-green'. I think it could maybe be called a dark turquoise? It's also super pigmented and I probably could have gotten away with only one coat, but this is two.

Galahad was one of the first A-England polishes I got a few months ago, along with Tristam, and I've worn it about 5 times I think, the most I've ever worn a polish! Haha

Next is Perceval, because I'm sure that every collection needs a great red! For some reason this reminds me of Christmas, maybe the shimmer? Nevertheless it's also really pigmented, and although I could have used just one coat, using two makes it pop more.

These both had a great formula, not too thick or too thin and have a great drying time.

You can buy A-England polishes from their website at www.a-england.co.uk, where there's free shipping!! Have you guys seen the new Gothic Beauties collection that's coming out this week? They look amazing!

See you tomorrow with some more Mythicals!

Girly Bits - Stormy Skies

Hi again!

I decided that I would post the other polish I got from my first Llarowe haul before I go on my super dooper A-England swatch-stravaganza!

So without further ado I present: Girly Bits - Stormy Skies, a gorgeous blue-grey cream with glitter flecks.

This had a great formula, these photos were taken with two coats and a top coat. It's such a pretty colour, and the bottle is so cute! I love the diamante detail on them!

These photos make me realise how much I need to buy a legit camera. What camera's do you guys suggest?

Coming up next: A-England Swatch-Stravaganza!

(Forgive the awkward book stacking >.<)

See you next time!

80s Night! Neon skittle

Hi again!

It's been so long since I've posted! Last year uni subjects take up so much time!

The other day at work we had an awesome 80s night where all the bar staff got to dress up! So I decided to pretty up my nails with some neon.

(Revlon - Royal)

You can see that this nail had massive shrinkage, so next time I'll have to not use a quick dry top coat. Revlon Royal is a gorgeous electric blue jelly! The best part about this polish is that it dries super quickly, I probably didn't need to use a top coat, but I hate using a top coat on all my nails except one haha. The application is also great, it goes on really evenly and there's no streaks. This is two coats.

(China Glaze - Hang-Ten Toes, Orange You Hot?, Sun Kissed, & I'm With The Lifeguard)

All four of these are from the China Glaze Summer Neon Collection so they've all got the same formula and finish. Each of the colours have a gorgeous shimmer to them, which you can see in the flash photos and direct sunlight (you couldn't see it in the photos outside though).

Application! Seriously, it's good that these colours are pretty, because the application stinks! It went on a little streaky and the drying time was horrible, with two coats I left it to dry for 2 hours and it still wasn't completely dry, which is why Orange You Hot in these pictures is only one coat, it completely smudged and I had to take it off and try again.

During the week I went to the hairdresser and found these super cool products: Colour Bug! Last summer I really wanted to try hair chalking, but for some reason I couldn't work out how to do it. Colour Bug makes hair chalking super easy! You just need to spray hairspray on your hair and then rub it on your hair then spray hairspray again to set it and you're done! I used it on 80s night and it was sooo cool. I'll take a photo of it in my hair next week.

I'll post again tomorrow. Yesterday I got some nail mail from Llarowe, my first indie polishes!!

NOTD: Color Club - New Bohemian

So I thought I would post a picture of my nails at the moment. Because I work at a bar my nails; 1. break all the time, & 2. always manage to get a chip in the first day.

The second one is the most annoying, but also a positive because it means that I get to change my nail polish every day, at least on the weekends.

I recently bought this because I saw that it was similar to China Glaze - For Audrey, I think New Bohemian is a little bit more green, but I'll probably do a comparison later. I wanted to get it also because I find that China Glaze's formula can be a little bit on the thick side, plus it chipped really quickly. I love the colour though so investigating into the Color Club version was certainly worth it.

On my ring finger I put one layer of Color Club - Diamond Drops, I think it's from their Blossoming collection. A flakie top coat which I loooooove. This time I had some problems applying it though, the flakies weren't applying evenly like they were when I swatched them on the colour wheel, I shall see next time I use it what the application is like and report back!

Side note: I realllllyyy need to get a new camera. I've been looking at the Nikon S3300, I think it's called. My camera at the moment is legit bad, sometimes it can take like 2 seconds to take a shot, which is redic.
