Pretty & Polished - Jawbreaker

Hi!

So right now I've gone into some kind of Etsy and Llarowe buying frenzy. Can you believe that when I started this blog, I didn't have any indie polishes, and now I have 32 with more on the way! Today I've got Pretty & Polished's Jawbreaker to show you, a gorgeous white jelly base with different sizes of red, blue and yellow glitter! It also completely looks like a jawbreaker!

Formula was amazing! This is three coats but you could do it with two, I just wanted to see how much the glitter would peek through.

You can get Jawbreaker from Llarowe for $12 plus shipping when it's in stock.

So I've decided to do a new segment! In marketing we're always taught that you need to have something to differentiate your brand from another. So the other day at work I was looking down at my chipped nails (which I'd painted that day!) and wondering which nail polishes would be able to last at work! Everyone's nails chip in the bar, I think it's the combination of alcohol and having to open so many bottles that does it. So now I introduce to you....THE BAR TEST!

The rules:
1. All have to have a base coat and a top coat
2. Polish has to be applied that day

Bar tested!!
Sorry for the low quality photos, I take them as soon as I get home (around 5.30am) and there's no light :(. Jawbreaker did pretty well! Especially considering the glitter, glitter always chips like crazy! I feel like it correlates to the amount of days it would wear in normal life, I'd say one night at the bar would be similar to a couple days of day wear.

Have you guys gotten any indie polishes? Any recommendations?

See you next time!
x

    1. I know! It's so interesting to look at, and I love that no nail will ever be the same as another nail haha! There are already a couple of polishes that didn't have any chips!

  2. I always used to find that Barry M polishes stood up well to the bar test, even when I was on kitchen duty (urgggh!). Love this polish, am going to have to start investing in some indie polishes myself:)

    1. Oh cool! I've never bought a Barry M polish, but I might have to try them out! I can totally imagine kitchen duty being the worst! There are so many hazardous things in a kitchen for a manicure haha

  3. I love the idea of the bar test! I work in reception but had a few extra shifts at a bottle shop and my nails chipped beyond belief! Great to see I'm not the only one!

    1. Haha you're not the only one!! It sucks because at the end of the night people must think I'm some gross person who walks around with super chipped nails all the time lol

    1. Thanks! It does make me want a jawbreaker, but then I remember that jawbreakers take an annoying amount of time to eat lol

  5. Lol, I love the bar test! My work is hard on my hands and nails too (doggy daycare/photographer), but then again I hardly wear any polish for more than 24hrs.

I do not own any indie polishes but I would love to.. they look so unique and amazing :)
Sad thing is that its such a hassle ordering from e-bay etc when you live in Finland... I don´t know why :/
Love the look of this polish and its a nice thing that you did do the bar test :)

    1. Oh I know what you mean, there are so many indie polishes that I would love to buy that only ship within America :(

You should get them from Llarowe or Harlow & Co because they ship worldwide :D

    1. Haha I love how it looks from a distance compared to how it looks close up. Up close it breaks the illusion of a jawbreaker haha

  10. I like the looks of this polish but it seems very close to KB Shimmer Oh Splat! I think I might prefer Oh Splat! though. It seems to have a little less going on. BTW - Love the Bar Test idea. It will be nice to see if you can come up with some ways to get the polish to last longer (top coat sandwich maybe?) after testing a polish once.

    1. Oh they totally do look similar! I'd never tried KBShimmer because I thought she didn't ship to Australia, I'll have to order with her soon!

I tried using OPI Just Crown Me Already with Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps and it lasted the entire night! The next day it kind of fell apart though haha

    1. Thanks! I hate it so much when I spent ages on a pretty manicure and it's ruined after one day! Hopefully once I do my whole collection I'll be able to wear the ones that don't chip as often haha
